These dates would work for Miami. Let's see what other partners say. R

Subject: Re: Suggested Project Dates -featured weekly blogs..

Hi Rodney

These dates would be a bit difficult for us at Keele since we start on the

first week of October. These might be more workable for my class:

> orig Sept 20 (Oct 7)- Student propose topics by posting them online, or

else by

> joining a topic group proposed by someone else

>

> orig Sept 25 (Oct 14)- Groups are finalized by your Professor, if groups

are not

> complete already

>

> orig Sept 31 (Oct 21)- Topics are finalized by discussion within the

group -- what to

> study and how the various schools / students will study it

>

> orig Oct 3 (Oct 28)- Students identify their own particular research

site -- whether

> for service learning or case study; students also identify literature

> informative for their research

>

> orig Oct 10 (Nov 4)- Project design complete by the group -- at this

point,

> everything should be prepared for realizing the project, i.e., the overall

> structure will be drafted, literature (al least preliminary) will be

> found, locations and concrete partners will be identified, etc. This marks

> the start of the fieldwork or research by students, if not already so.

>

> orig Oct 31 (Nov 18)- Intermediate report on the project

>

> orig Nov15 (Dec 2) - Final report on the project launched on the web and

presented in

> the universities.

Do you think this is still workable?
