I'm not sure what more motivation people could need than so-called
"justice sunday" this past week-end . . . but please call our Ohio
senators and ask them to oppose the "nuclear option." the phone call
is incredibly easy (under a minute)--just tell them you're one of the
senator's constituents and that you oppose exercising the "nuclear"
option for such an extremist set of judges (or whatever argument you
prefer). senate staffers generally just keep a running tally of "for"
and "against" any issue (i.e., they won't argue with you or even ask
why you hold your opinion). i know everyone's incredibly busy this
time of year, but if we don't push back aggressively against this
attempt to erode the line between church and state, it may soon be too
late. in our current climate, our republican senators are actually
much less extreme than many (witness voinovich's stand on bolton), so
these phone calls can make a difference.
thanks,
dem
Senator Voinovich Senator DeWine
