The attached article has some interesting things to say about journal impact factors. (Good info for P & T).
I looked at the Publish or Perish software -- it does provide another metric that could supplement more traditional journal impact factor scores. I note this primarily because applied journals -- the one's in which we often publish -- tend to have lower impact scores compared to other more theoretically focused journals.
