note to staff and faculty:   The Child Care Referral notice that was 
distributed offering Summer Fun Pages 2000 had an incorrect phone 
number.  The correct # is 529-2808.

The Cincinnati Enquirer, Friday, April 14:
Column--Married With Children--by Patricia Gallagher Newberry 
discusses the part-time work option she has chosen.  The author, an 
instructor of journalism at Miami, writes that while most of her time 
is devoted to her family her paying job is "the perfect option.  I 
get to teach a subject I love to students who, for the most part, are 
motivated and interested."

is being performed this weekend.

Hamilton Journal News, Friday, April 14:
The Genocide Awareness Project, with a display of large, disturbing 
photos of aborted fetuses, Holocaust victims and lynching victims, 
was at Miami Wedn. and Thursday in front of Shriver Center. Quotes

Editorial says despite a court ruling showing Miami did not violate 
Title IX laws by cutting men's sports to help achieve gender equity, 
and despite proclaimed budgetary constraints, "It comes down to 
priorities.  From where we sit, cutting men's sports to benefit 
women's sports is a perverse attempt at progress."

A federal judge has dismissed Miami as a defendant in a lawsuit filed 
by former male student athletes who said the school violated the law 
in dropping men's soccer, tennis and wrestling teams in trying to 
meet Title IX requirements.

Canton Repository, Marion Star, Lancaster Eagle Gazette, March 25
The legal argument over a $6 million gift to Miami from Walter 
Havighurst (English emeritus) has ended with the Ohio Supreme Court 
saying the money can be used as intended at Miami.

Bryan Times, March 21, Wilmington News Journal, March 22
A federal judge has ruled student disciplinary records at 
universities are protected educational records.   The Chronicle of 
Higher Education had sought such records from Miami University and 
Ohio State.
