10-11: Smithsonian Secretary Larry Small: Last month, Lawrence Small
took office as secretary of the Smithsonian Institution.  He comes
from a background in banking, and happens to be an accomplished
flamenco guitarist as well.  He joins Diane to talk about his plans
for the museum complex that holds some of the nation's greatest
cultural treasures.

11-12: William Safire: New York Times columnist William Safire
presents his new novel "Scandalmonger" (Simon & Schuster).  It's a
story of a journalist covering the sex scandals of politicians...
based on true events from the lives of the Founding Fathers.



    Fresh Air with Terry Gross, 12:06-1 p.m.

The Innocence Project. .. a talk with attorneys BARRY SCHECK and
PETER NEUFELD, who work to free the wrongly accused from prison using
DNA testing.  SCHECK is best known for his DNA analysis on the OJ
Simpson defense team.  SCHECK and NEUFELD have a new book about some
of the innocent people they've helped release from jail.
