10-11: Animal Law: A growing number of Americans are taking an interest in
whether or not animals can be represented in court. Several top law

welfare and wildlife protection; William Horn, attorney specializing in

11-12: Emily Carr: Little-known Canadian artist Emily Carr is placed by
some art historians in the same echelon as American artist Georgia O'Keefe
and Mexican artist Frida Kahlo. Two art historians talk about Carr's work,
why it's little-known in the U.S., and the growing interest in her career.
Guests: Doris Shadbolt, art historian; Susan Fischer Sterling,

culture, and how to find one that's right for you

   All Things Considered, 4-7 p.m.

In California, police are fighting back when citizens make bogus
complaints: they're suing. A state law allows police to file defamation
suits. Officers say it's a safeguard now that they must catalog every
single complaint that comes in. Critics say it's chilling the right to
investigate police misconduct.

   WMUB Forum, 9-10 a.m., repeated 7-8 p.m.

News Director Darrel Gray with an hour of conversations with guests, and
listener e-mail comments and questions
