                       10-11: Daniel Schorr: NPR's senior news analyst
Daniel Schorr joins Diane for a look back at his long  career in
journalism, and a look ahead to the important topics in the news today,
including next week's Congressional elections. They'll also talk about a
new collection of essays and speeches he's written over  the years,
entitled "Forgive Us Our Press Passes" (Hastings Communications and
Entertainment Law  Journal).

                       11-12: Dr. Michael Gershon: According to Dr. Michael
Gershon's new book, "gut instinct" may not be just an empty phrase. The
book is called "The Second Brain" (Harper Collins), and it explains how the
human  gut actually has its own nervous system, separate from the brain's
impulses.

                       Filmmaker WERNER HERZOG. His latest film is a
documentary about the only U.S. pilot to have  successfully escaped from a
North Vietnamese-controlled prison. It premieres on the Cinemax cable this
week.
