is happening today with Bill Gates and his Windows operating system.

The Diane Rehm Show (10am - Noon); guest host Steve Roberts
Hour one: Space Based Weapons & Technology: We've heard a lot
about plans for a space-based missile defense shield, but that's only
part of the technology that's intended for use in space. A panel
talks about lasers, radar, cameras, and other systems being developed
by the military and private sectors. Guests: John Pike,
GlobalSecurity.org; Jack Spencer, Heritage Foundation; Jack Hitt, New
York Times Magazine
Hour two: Tom Stanton: In 1999, with Detroit's 88-year-old
baseball stadium slated for closure, journalist Tom Stanton
determined to attend every one of the 81 remaining home games in the
old park. In his book "The Final Season" (St. Martin's) he tells of
his longtime love of baseball and of his hometown stadium, and of the
bittersweet achievement of meeting his goal.

Fresh Air with Terry Gross (Noon - 1pm)
The experiences of a mother who gave birth to premature
twins, and a doctor who treats them using the latest technology. DR.
MIA WECHSLER-DORON <WEX-ler dore-ON> and DANA <Donna> WECHSLER LINDEN
are sisters and co-authors of the new book, "Preemies."

Talk of the Nation with Juan Williams (2pm - 4pm)

CHILDREN? Juan talks with doctors about the effect of age on
fertility. When is it too late for a woman to get pregnant?
Hour two: END OF LIFE DECISIONS: Advances in medicine and
medical technology are keeping terminally ill individuals alive
longer than ever before. And what can be done to make our final days
better? Juan talks with experts and YOU about who should decide when
and how we die.

All Things Considered (4pm - 7pm)
A new genre of mysteries takes readers into the great
outdoors, where the heroes are protectors of the ecosystem -- game
wardens and conservationists. Two authors talk about their ventures
into the world of "woods cops," poachers, and opportunists who won't
be stopped by environmental laws.
