        Hour One: Stepfamily Relations: A new study suggests that
children in a blended family are more accepting of a stepfather than
a stepmother. A panel talks about the dynamics of blended families
and the special stresses placed upon them. Guests: Constance Ahrons,
Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study; Burke Mealey, clinical
psychologist; Gina DeLeonardis, clinical psychologist
        Hour Two: Martha Stout: Could daydreaming be a symptom of an
underlying emotional problem? Psychologist Martha Stout, an expert in
trauma disorders, discusses her new book "The Myth of Sanity"
(Viking). She talks about how the brain processes traumatic
experiences, and at how early trauma can lead to a range of
dissociative behavior later in life.

        Hour One: the U.S. apology to Japan: President George W. Bush
recently sent an envoy to Japan to apologize for the collision
between a US submarine and a Japanese trawler. The Japanese consider
an apology a show of remorse, not necessarily an admission of guilt.
Will the U.S. apology help heal the wounds? A discusssion of culture,
politics and US - Japanese relations.
        Hour Two: Afghanistan, the Taliban, and the outside world:
Last week, members of Afghanistan's ruling Taliban started destroying
all statues in their country. The destruction is prompting
international outcry, and drawing attention to the citizens of
Afghanistan who suffer from drought and food shortage.
