Today (Fri) the ornithology class had a chance to visit the coop outside
Oxford and see the Lapland Longspur [see poor picture]--it is mixed in with
nearly 150 Horned Larks [see below]. A Coopers Hawk is working the area and
the birds are very jumpy. I've been putting some cracked corn out on the
loading ramp for the dump station at the coop-should make viewing easier
and maybe we'll get lucky with the next storm and get Snow Buntings!!
