Marianne drove me down to the Treaty Line area of Brookville Lake
late this morning (the doctor has put me in the doghouse for driving
and being too active too early after surgery). The mud flats are at
their peak for shorebirds, waders, lounging gulls and terns at this
point. Noteworthy:

Blue-winged Teal 35 (my first group of the fall)
Great Blue Heron 33
Great Egret 10
Black Vulture 1
Turkey Vulture 24
Bald Eagle 1 adult
Killdeer 92
Lesser Yellowlegs 6
Solitary Sandpiper 1
Spotted Sandpiper 1
Semipalmated Sandpiper 4
Least Sandpiper 11
Pectoral Sandpiper 34
Stilt Sandpiper 5
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE 2 (basic plumage)
Ring-billed Gull 38
Caspian Tern 1
Forster's Tern 3
