Subject: Request input - identifying shorebird and waterbird surveys taking place in Midwest

The Upper Mississippi River and Great Lakes Region Joint Venture Science Team, in concert with the Midwest Coordinated Bird Monitoring Partnership, is currently conducting a review of all shorebird and waterbird monitoring activities within our respective boundaries. Our goal is to develop a framework for existing and future monitoring programs to operate under so we can meet priority information needs, inform management and conservation activities, and track our progress in meeting population goals for shorebirds and waterbirds.

Our request from you: Would you please take 15-30 minutes to review the spreadsheets below and add surveys you are aware of and that you think may be potentially important for improving our understanding of the abundance and distribution of breeding and migratory shorebirds and waterbirds in the region? Several regional surveys have been identified on the spreadsheet, and there is a row for smaller scale surveys by state. Please feel free to add additional rows and / or provide comments on the existing content of the spreadsheet. Your response by 25 February would be much appreciated.
Thank you for any information you can provide to Katie Koch ([log in to unmask]).
