Okay. If any of your competition in the Skyline Challenge on the list knew,
do you think they'd *tell* you? Just kidding...  Frank Renfrow finds RBNHs
in pine stands in Indian Hill near Cincinnati, but he reported a few days
ago that he has been unable to find one RBNH that had been a regular so far
this winter. You might try Rowe Arboretum, also in the Indian Hill area.
Kent State grads like myself have to be accompanied by a responsible member
of society when visiting The Village of Indian Hill, but I think a professor
from *Miami* would be okay on his own. ;-)  The Rowe Arb. is a neat little
spot, though. They have a nifty, motion-sensing electric gate that you have
to pass through on your way in and out--a very James Bondian method for
keeping deer away from the arboretum. You might ask Frank Renfrow for more
information on area red-breasted nuthatches. He scours the tri-state in
order to study them, and knows all sorts of oddball sites here and there
that might be productive.
