We had a banner morning banding today--we caught 79 birds [banded 72 and
recaptured 7] from 19 species!! Highlights included our first fall Winter
Wren, a HY female Rose-breasted Grosbeak (they do bite harder than
Cardinals!); 3-Hermit Thrushes (first of fall); 1-Gray-cheeked Thrush;
8-Ruby-crowned and 5 Golden-crowned Kinglets; 16-Yellow-rumped Warblers
(Myrtle); 23-White-throated Sparrows!!
We also had a HY Tennessee Warbler with albino wing feathers (no body
feathers but pink in bill)
Cheers
Dave
