Chris Warren and I spent the early morning in Union Co. along and
upstream from Brookville Lake, reconnoitering for our Friday Earlham
College Birding Big Day.  We kept careful track of numbers and ended
up with some substantial counts.  In all we had 92 species between
5:30 and 9:30.  Highlights:

Great Egret 1
Osprey 4 (both the Rte 44 and Whitewater State Park nests with birds on them)
Bald Eagle 3 (2 adults and 1 imm)
Solitary Sandpiper 6
Caspian Tern 1
Forster's Tern 1
Least Flycatcher 1
Yellow-throated Vireo 11
House Wren 42
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 17
Blue-winged Warbler 3
Nashville Warbler 3
Yellow Warbler 53
Cerulean Warbler 6
Prothonotary Warbler 1
Common Yellowthroat 21
Yellow-breasted Chat 2
White-crowned Sparrow 17
Baltimore Oriole 23
Purple Finch 1
