As rapidly changing technology brings modifications in the way companies do
business, Miami University's Hamilton campus is working to help keep them
up to speed by offering a Business and Industry Center.  The center is a
component of the office of continuing education at the Miami Hamilton
campus.  Quotes Karen House (director, continuing ed and conference
services), director of the center, and Kathleen Weber (program manager,
continuing ed) and includes a photo of House and Weber at the center.
And:
With enrollment up from 2,673 students last fall to about 2,800 now,
officials at Miami University's Hamilton campus are focusing on how they
can react to the increasing number and needs of students.  Mentions Miami's
involvement with the learning center being brought to Union Township by the
Voice of America Project and says plans are in the works for a possible
expansion of the campus.  Quotes Jack Rhodes (executive director, Hamilton
campus).

After spending the last seven years creating exhibitions at the Fitton
Center for Creative Arts, Nelly Bly Cogan is retiring.  Cogan got into arts
administration after she came to Oxford and took a job as an assistant to
Miami University's dean of the School of Fine Arts and then worked at the
Miami University Art Museum, developing programs for the Friends of the Art
Museum.  Mentions that Phil Joseph (art), then head of the fine art
department at Miami Hamilton, had organized the first two exhibitions in
the Fitton Center before Cogan came on board.

Communicator Awards.  All four videos were produced by Craig Rouse (media

"Around Town" column says 26-year-old Chris McGuire, a former Wright State
and Miami University basketball point guard, is the athletic director for
the Dayton Boys and Girls Clubs and, as coach of the flag football team,
took 16 boys who are 12 and under to the national championship game in
Orlando, Fla. where they won in the last seconds.

Beginning Tuesday, Northern Illinois University will entrust eight students
from a Finance 445 class with $220,000.  The class is part of a new program
that allows students to manage the investment of a $20,000 gift from the
Treasury Management Association of Chicago along with $200,000 in NIU
Foundation assets.
