I think because the general consensus is that if the song wasn't good
enough to put on the album, it wasn't good enough for release, period
(I *know* one of the bandmembers usually feels that way.)  Altho'
recently there seems to have been a trend of reworking older songs and
using them on whatever album is being worked on.  F'rinstance, Dull,
Brown, and Grey was originally written for WFAD but turned up on Still
Life; and the ones I mentioned that were written for Still Life and are
being used on the new one.
