Hi birders,

Please give me your opinion on what you think the flock of 20-25 birds I
saw this afternoon was (I think I know but would like independent
confirmation); they flew in and sat together near the top of the highest
our honey locust tree; characteristics:

- blackbird sized but none had a red wing patch
- tail clearly longer than a starling's
- the tail notably flares and is rounded toward the end
- pointed bill unlike a cowbird's
- dark color overall, but not just black - shades of brown could be seen,
even in the back-lighting
- sitting still the vocalization was a slow "pick" "pick" "pick", which
became much more rapid and communal when they flew of together

Please email me what species you think this was.

thank you!!!

Best regards,
Tom
