I agree that while it is not ideal, saying No to a beta is OK. However, I'm already getting questions from parents and students about Media Center and move-in is still two weeks away for us. I don't know how many students will be returning with that flavor of XP, but it will probably be more than just a handful.
This summer we probably had about 5% of students running IE7. Since we are predominantly an Engineering and Aviation school, I forsee this number being very high this coming semester, so having support for that will dramatically reduce the call-load on the support center.

20% is a scary figure. I would like to add that while the IE7 beta
problems don't really worry me - the XP version support issue is alarming.
I would urge Cisco to address this as soon as possible.

Agreed.

Very strong agreement! Among our early arrivals, about 20% are Media
PC's and therefore are skipping all the rules.
These Media Center PC's were "fine" last year and "not fine" this
year -- that's a hard story to sell!
