Hiked about 1/3 of Slate Run near Canal Winchester today - several active
mixed flocks in the woods enjoying the emergence of so many bugs with the
nice weather.
From the observation deck off of the Bobolink Trail, we had the pleasure of
seeing all but one of the park's woodpecker species - pileated, y-b
sapsucker, hairy, downy, red-bellied and northern flicker. The only park
species missing was red-headed, which we would have probably have had to
walk down to the Kokosing Trail in the wetlands for.
