Greetings!
The seasons are definitely changing! We banded 32 White-throated Sparrows
at HW on Sunday, up from 3 on Oct 5. We also banded 8 Hermit Thrushes and
a single Gray-cheeked Thrush. Rather than banding warblers now--its
sparrows! We banded 3 Yellow-rumps, the only warblers of the day, but
banded White-throated, White-crowned, Song, and Lincoln's Sparrows as well
as a Dark-eyed Junco. In addition, we banded a hatch-year male
Sharp-shinned Hawk--what a cool bird!
We also banded our yearly (last year on Oct 13) Blue-headed Vireo--we don't
band very many of these beautiful birds.
Cheers
Dave
