All right, I think the list serv works, so whats with all the "tests"
being posted. Testing one two, testing... Yeah so I went out today,
braving brisk temps and brisker winds, holy guacamole, the nearly blew
us off the boardwalk. I was out there with my sister and her friend
trying to show them some birds, a rough first experience for birding,
but I suppose it does show just how crazy we can be to go and see
birds,- whats wrong with me? Its freezing out there, haha.
Between gusts I saw most of the birds John was so kind to list
the other day, including a few Stilt Sandpipers too. The heron's seemed
to have all taken cover from the crazy winds and I couldn't find many
ducks. There were some nice Amish men out there too braving the gusts
and happy to see what birds were there.
Next I headed out to the Hoover Meadows for a quick search, and
turned up a few birds. Here is the List;
Boardwalk:

Stilt Sandpiper - about 4
Semi-palmated Sandpiper - several
Least Sandpiper - saw at least 2
Dunlin - similar number to John' s post
Long-billed Dowitcher - counted at least 4
Greater Yellowlegs - 4
Lesser Yellowlegs - 10+
Turkey Vultures - a few
Can.Go.
Ring-billed Gulls
GBH - 1
Swallows - 100 or so way out there
Cormorants - several

Meadows:

White Crowned Sparrow - 8
Golden-crowned Kinglet - 10+
Cedar Waxwings - 10 or so
Red-wing Blackbirds - a med. flock
Great Blue Heron - 1
N. Cardinal - 4
am. Goldfinch - 3

So after the quick search of the pines and first pond there, we
headed home for my bro's birthday party/dinner. I'll be heading back
out there in the morning,
Untill Next time... Enjoy our wild america,
        - Ben Warner
