Hello all,
My name is Matt Vosniak and I am a relatively new birder/photographer
(about 1 1/2 years) but it is a hobby I really have come to love. Today I
made a trip out to Cayley Woods in southern Lorain County and had a very
eventful observing and picture taking day. I am not very skilled at
counting birds seen so I will just list what what I saw.
Mallards
Canada Geese
Flickers
Bluejays
Robins
Cardinals
Red-Tailed Hawks
American Widgeon
Sharp Shinned Hawk (I think!! Only saw it for a second in flight)
Than the good stuff
I chased a male pheasant around trying to get a photo but he stayed in the
thick bushes to much to get a good photo. I got some nice looks though.
I didn't search hard but I did stumble across one long-eared owl as I was
leaving and I got many photos. If anyone would like to see please email
and I'll send one. Sorry no place to post them on line.
Lastly I saw a Northern Shirke from a little ways away through the
binoculars but it was gone before I could sneak close enough for a photo.
Definitely a Shrike though.
Thanks,
Matt Vosniak
