A three-mile walk along the Bike/Hike Trail in northern Summit County this evening yielded several
good sightings. A pair of Chipping Sparrows were still hanging around the bushes with some Black-
capped Chickadees. I also had six Pileated Woodpeckers in a group making quite a racket. The noise
prize, however, goes to a dozen Carolina Wrens, which seemed intent on out-singing each other.
Another real good bird for this spot was a single Northern Mockingbird that seemed more interested
in what the wrens where all charttery about than it did about me, 15 feet away.
