Hi all,

Just one more thing, after Ethan left I spent 2 more hours at Edgewater. During this time period the Jaeger flew by several more times, maybe 4 or 5. One of the passes was extremely close, maybe only 80 feet out. This allowed me to get good enough looks to confidantly call it a Pomarine. It was alot of fun to watch this bird scare up the gulls and just maneuver around.

  Good Birding,

  Phil Chaon

  Hi all,

The Ohio Young Birder's Club had their bird outing at Sandy Ridge Reservation (Lorain Co.) today. Had a nice variety of ducks including more than a dozen Northern Pintail and Northern Shovelers. Also had two Sandhill Cranes fly in and land. Afterwords we drove to Edgewater Park (Cuyahoga Co.) to see the Brant which we got great views of it. At one point, a kid started chasing the Geese including the Brant. After a while the group left besides Phil Chaon and I. We had a Merlin fly in and land in a tree and a Black Scoter right on the edge of the water. It appeared to have a broken wing and couldn't fly. Later on we ran into a local birder who pointed out a Jaeger that he has been seeing there. As soon as he told us, there it was out over the horizon. Left my scope in the car but was able to get enough details to possibly call it a Pomarine.

Last, Jen Brumfield called me and said that there was a Parasitic Jaeger at Avon.
