I had a day away from the store and met my parents for breakfast in
Bellfontaine. The fog was very heavy and so I did not get the chance to see
the normal high number of Red Tails on US33. Saw 5 or 6.

On the return to CMH I stopped in at Glacier Ridge Metro Park. It was poor
birding:
Mallards 6-8 males and 1 female
Red Tailed Hawk 3 (It was so quite here I could hear the calls. Very eerie.
In town the urban noises drown out the bird's call)
Hermit Thrush 1
Ruby Crowned Kinglet 2
Yellow-rumped Warbler 2
Blue Jay 12+
American Crow 3
Vulture - Black I think but the light was poor
Flicker (heard)
Red Bellied Woodpecker 3
Hairy Woodpecker 2
Downy Woodpecker 2
Brown Creeper 4+ (Red Oak trail, hard to see in the poor light)
White Breasted Nuthatch
Northern Cardinal 2 or 3
American Coot 5 or 6 (at the first pond at the Honda entrance)
Killdeer (heard)
also heard 3 pings/clicks in several spots, always in the high grass.
and lots of wooly worms and bullfrogs on the sidewalks and streets.

Then on to my home turf at Whetstone Park and the Park of Roses. Additions
for the day
Song Sparrow
White Throated Sparrow
Junco
Tufted Titmouse
European Starling
Common Grackle
Carolina Wren
many woodpeckers of all types. And probably a sparrow or two I can't yet
identify.

And when I got home, 2 Northern Mockingbirds in my yard.

Joan
