Sunday, 11/12 1 pm. Just returned from Clear Fork Reservoir, There was
a Common Loon fallout (I didn't seem them Sat AM) there. I counted 230 from
one spot and there were probably ata least another 20 scattered around the
lake. Reference: Delorme pg. 48 C-5. They were mostly located in a somewhat
strung out flock at "Fork" in the northeast corner of Morrow County or the
adjoing Richland County part of the lake. Best seen from the picnic areas
(which are closed to vehicular traffic) but within 100-200 yards walking
distance of SR 97 on the south side of the reservoir. They can be seen from
the dam but are probably 1 mile or more out. Also present, per John Herman
circa 20 buffleheads and a Red-necked Grebe. The 3 common species of gulls
were also present, but in low numbers. Roger Troutman
