Four of us from the Springfield area drove to The Wilds to bird today.
We saw several Red-tailed Hawks, some harriers, and a few kestrels. We
saw several Rough-legged Hawks of both light and dark morphs. We also
found the Northern Shrike off Prouty Road. To get to Prouty Road go to
the east end of International Road and turn right. Then watch for Prouty
Road on the left which isn't very far. Go up the hill and past a pond on
your right and there is a narrow lane to the right. We turned right and
saw the shrike on the right after a short distance.
