Yet another juvenile Pine warbler was lurking around the Greenlawn cemetery this afternoon. It was foraging in the oaks and pines just north of the Pit (Thurber pond). Other interesting birds in the cemetery included a large flock of Mourning Doves, 3 sapsuckers, and a jessed Red-tail being flown by a falconer (the resident Red-tails were understandably up-in-arms).

In the nearby quarries and the sewage plant southeast of the cemetery were a good assortment of waterfowl. I stopped briefly at the Hart Road quarry, the Haul Road rockpits, and the Jackson Pike Sewage Treatment plant. Highlights included
Herons - 20+ Great Blue Herons at Haul Road, 2-3 at other sites
Dabbling Ducks - huge flock of Mallards & Black ducks on the Scioto River adjacent ot the Sewage Plant, but also included a few Gadwall and Green-winged Teal. Haul Road had more Mallards, Black Ducks, & Gadwall.
Diving Ducks - Ring-necks still at Hart Rd. quarry, while Haul Road ponds had 20+ Hooded Mergansers and a single Common Goldeneye
Cormorants - 3 were in the river off the sewage plant, while another was in the Haul Road ponds
Grebes - only 3 Pied-billed at Hart Rd. quarry.
