I have read with interest the recent postings of ideas for the Ohio birding site. For the past four years I have been a member of a UK based site birdforum.net. The site contains nearly everything a birder desires. First it is divided into forums that address all matters of birding, off topics areas, photo gallery and a chat room. Current total membership is over 50,000. Most members are English and a lot of information is lost on the North American. Common

loons are always northern divers, mergansers are goosanders. The country just about shuts down and the site is ablaze with activity if a North American stray such as a killdeer or our robin wanders over. The chat can be fun on a bad winter day. You might wander into a couple of lads in Cork Ireland going to the mountains to tick golden eagle. The English are intense and serious birders.
