Today I went looking for that Merlin, but he did one of those
disappearing acts. Granted, I didn't spend a very long time there. But
I did walk around the "pit" pond area near the feeders. I got excited
for a second when a raptor flew in, but it was a Cooper's Hawk. Nothing
unusual was showing up so I did another lap and caught some interesting
movement in the pine trees by the pit, and in there with some
chickadees was a PINE WARBLER in there. So that was fun. There were
also the usual suspects and a Mockingbird or two. So I'll be there
tomorrow trying a little harder to see if I can find the Merlin. I was
there from 1:30-2:30 or so.
