First off, this is an actual, down to Earth, honest to goodness, ole' fashioned bird report! :-)
This evening there were at least 9 Short Eared Owls and up to 25 Harriers at the Longbrake wetlands in Eastern Hardin Co. 4 of the owls were engaged in aerial battles and 5-6 Harriers were seen at most times filling the sky at the same time.
Longbrakes is a private wetland 2 miles south of Forest, Ohio. It is reached from Jackson TWP 50 and the raptors can be seen from the comfort of your own car.
