Hi all,

On Saturday, January 6th, the Ohio Ornithological Society along with
Columbus Audubon is hosting a field trip to the Wilds, over in Muskingum
County. There is no charge for this trip; just bring a lunch and a
willingness to see neat birds. Bill Thompson, editor of Bird Watcher's
Digest, and myself will be leading this expedition, along with Jason Larson.
Raptors like Rough-legged Hawk, Northern Harrier, Golden Eagle, and
Short-eared Owl will be the focus, but we should find plenty of other
interesting species. The Northern Shrike is still there, and we'll certainly
try for that.

This should be a really good opportunity to really study raptors, and
improve identification skills with this fascinating group of birds. The
Wilds frequently hosts BIG numbers of wintering hawks, so there is ample
opportunity to study them.

If you are interested in attending, please e-mail me privately and I'll send
along details.
