Today at Mosquito Creek Wildlife Area we observed 4-5 Rough-legged hawks
(all light phase), most of which were along Mahan-Denham Rd. A single
CANVASBACK was the highlight at Pintail Pond, where it was diving amongst
Canada geese, Tundra swans, Red-heads, Ring-necked ducks, Gadwall, and
Wigeon. We also viewed an adult Bald Eagle bathing in the water on
Hoagland-Blackstub Rd.

We stayed until dusk hoping for Short-eared owls to no avail. Is there
anywhere in NE Ohio where one can reliably find these?
