It has been pointed out to me that many Graylag Geese hang around Mentor
Lagoons, so most likely that is what they were. I was not aware of this and
am sorry for any confusion. My ID was based on calls, and I am assuming
Greylag sound a lot like White-fronted, as they are both in Anser.

Subject: [Ohio-birds] White-fronted Geese

Two probable Greater White-fronted Geese were at Mentor Lagoons this
afternoon. After walking out to the lake and seeing nothing, we walked back
into the parking lot to our car. We spooked a flock of Canada Geese in the
little "river" that runs by the marina, all which started calling. Amidst
the Canada's honking however, were two very different, much lighter-sounding
geese. As I put my bins up I got a glimpse of a brown goose with a brown
neck and pink-orange bill. Unfortunately they flew directly away and did not
return. However, the calls were quite distinctive, as later confirmed. Not
much else of note.
