I am a new person here though I have been reading the daily list for a 
while. For me, one of the nicest and most welcome things about the list has 
been the absence of the "flaming", complaining and other negative input 
that is found in so many, many, many other forums.
 That's to say I prefer some effective "restrictions" because they provide 
a board wherein the conversation is actually informative and interesting.
In contrast... the so-called "freedom" of the "flame forums" is almost 
always just an invitation for posters who quickly degrade the board to even 
worse than a total waste of time.
  Thankfully, I am not one of the people who has to decide the specifics of 
the "restrictions".
