We are fortunate indeed to have RHWPs present most of the year either in
our yard or visible on our road. This Saturday morning I was peering out
our kitchen window and up one flew. It landed on my newest feeder and
graciously poised for some photos. I have attached one for your viewing
pleasure. As you will note, this bird's head hasn't developed its brilliant
red color yet, but this is still one of the finest looking birds in my
humble opinion.
