Hello all-
Sorry for the late post, but I just wanted to share my exciting Sunday...
I was just watching the feeders around 1p, counting the usual suspects for
FeederWatch, when a GREAT BLUE HERON flew out of the gully behind my place
and on to my cement patio!! He checked out my birdbath and took a few steps
toward the feeders and then flew off.
What you need to know is that my yard is quite small. It is a 25' X 25'
fenced in area with a small cement patio and a bird feeding station. This
bird was just a few feet from my window! It was a great reminder of how big
these herons really are! I enjoyed the odd visitor and hope you all get a
nice birding surprise this week.
Here's the yard list:
GREAT BLUE HERON
White-throated sparrow
Song sparrow
Downy WP
Red-bellied WP
WB Nuthatch
Cardinal
Blue Jay
Junco

Mourning dove
E. Starling
