Subject: Ross's/Snow Geese-Northern Ross County-Yes

Bill Bosstic, Bob Placier and I went up to see the Ross's and Snow Geese this morning.(Just north of 180, Spencer Rd. area) they were still present at 9:00 am. Was a cold 20 deg. out there too! Lots of C.Geese also.

We worked our way down towards Chillicothe...did see a couple of Kestrels along the way.

As we drove down old Rt. 35 East towards Richmond Dale...things got very interesting. Right along the road, sat an Imm. Bald Eagle eating on a dead deer. Distance was maybe 150ft. Bill did get several good pics. Scanning the treeline, we found another Imm. setting alone. This is area of the Nesting pair in recent yrs. So they could be young birds from last yr? The one on the deer look like 1-yr. bird, with almost no white anywhere.

Driving back west, we found 2-Rough-legged hawks. One light phase..and one dark, within 2 miles of each other!

A very good day, and all before 1:00pm. Delorme pg.78 c-3
