January 26: Drove from Fremont with wife to corn stubble field where
Tundra swans frequent, just 6 miles NW of Fremont. Counted 650 swans from
left to right and quit counting half way through. Judged the entire flock
to be 1,300 birds. My wife took photos with her digital camera. Maybe I
can figure out how to post the photos on this board (I'm computer-
challenged). Then, drove East of Fremont on Rt. 6 to Pickerel Creek WA.
Two adult Bald eagles flew over, probably from the White's Landing nest.
Drove to Castalia Pond in Castalia and counted:
14 Gadwalls
30+ Northern Shovelers
18+ Black ducks
4 Buffleheads
68 Canada Geese
45+ American Widgeon
12 Redhead ducks
65 Mallards
