Hello Everyone,

With the winter bird atlasing activities going on now, it's fun to think
about the upcoming 2007 field season of the Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas. Last
summer proved to be a fantastic start for Ohio's second breeding bird atlas
(scheduled to run through 2010). To date, just over 44,000 breeding bird
observations have been submitted from across Ohio, but there is plenty of
work that remains to be done.

If you are interested in learning more about the Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas II
and ways to contribute, please attend the Ohio Breeding Bird Atlas Regional
Workshop, cosponsored by the Toledo Zoo, Toledo Naturalists' Association,
and Toledo Metroparks. The workshop will be held on March 3, 2007 at the
Toledo Zoo, with a detailed workshop agenda expected in the coming weeks.
Presentations will cover a variety of topics ranging from conducting atlas
block surveys to recording and submitting observations. The workshop,
lunch, zoo entrance fees, and parking will all be free of charge.

For details and registration, contact us by email at [log in to unmask] or by
phone at (614) 247-6458. Please indicate the number of people that will be
attending, and include their contact information and lunch preferences
(available sandwich options are turkey, ham, and vegetarian). The
registration deadline for this workshop is February 22nd. Please note that
it is important to register before February 22nd so that parking and
admission fees at the zoo can be waived. We look forward to seeing you
there!
