My friend, Roger Merrick helped me with 2 of my 4 Jan grids today. Both are in Harrison Co. The Tappan grid was notable for its lack of waterfowl. the exception being Canada geese and Ring billed Gulls.
The anchor grid< south of Cadiz, 62C3 is a heavily strip mined, sparsely populated area with many " Road Closed, Travel at your own risk areas. We had fun negotiating those places with my 4 wheel drive SUV [Roger at the wheel]
Our more notable species:
Northern Harrier
Short Eared Owl
Rough legged Hawk, 2
Kestrel, 2
Red tailed Hawk, 2
and 11 more usual species
Happy Birding! Winnie Sarno
