Today was interesting. despite the lake being at least 90% covered by
floating ice, there was an excellent movement of both ducks and gulls. The
gulls were interesting in that they were not moving overhead as is usually
typical. Instead they were loosely moving over the ice-covered lake.
Movement was steady. Of interest were 2 white-winged scoters, Iceland,
glaucous, lesser black-backed gulls and 26 snow buntings. Best of all, I
was able to watch from the warmth of my house.
