I stopped briefly to East 72nd street on Friday morning. I was only ably to
stop for about a half an hour. It was difficult to see with all the steam.
you had to wait for the occasional clearing of steam to scan. I had two
adult lesser black-backed gulls and a first winter GLAUCOUS GULL. In
addition there was one hybrid gull. It was fairly large and had a clean
white head and appeared to be an adult GREAT-BLACK-BACKED x HERRING GULL
hybrid. I also saw a second year bird that may have been the same
combination. Unfortunately I only got a brief glimpse of this bird.
