With schools closed and daycare closed, I ended up spending the day at home
(North Perry, Lake County) today.   The activity at the feeders was sporadic
throughout the morning.  I think the high winds blowing directly off the
lake were responsible.  Once the winds went from northeast to northwest
feeder activity picked up a bit.  A common redpoll made a very brief
appearance.  It came in with a group of goldfinches.  It never could figure
out how to use the feeder and left when the goldfinches were scared up by a
blue jay.  I never saw it again.  Other feeder birds of note were eastern
towhee, brown creeper, red-breasted nuthatch, and white-throated sparrow.
For those counting, I had 22 species at my feeders today.

there were a few gulls flying west overhead this afternoon.  Most were
herring with a few ring-bills and a few great black-backed gulls and an
adult GLAUCOUS GULL.
