Hi

Took the family on the annual "drive for hours to see a bird for 30
sec" trip to see the Harris sparrow--previous birds on this list are
the king rail in Columbus and the eurasian wigeon that you could only
see from a bridge which had way too much traffic for preschoolers.

We were #329 -- we hardly had the car stopped before the Miller boys
were there with their log book. The Miller boys were wonderful hosts
and the Harris sparrow was most cooperative (well for a sparrow).

We stopped at the Wilderness Center in Wilmont -- This place is a
real gem and we spent about an hour watching birds at their
feeders. I highly recommend a stop here for anyone in the
area. The highlight here was the male harrier.
