A lot of our still waters around Chillicothe have frozen over now. Temp. at my place was -5 on Sat.and -1 this morn. So thought I would check the Scioto River for any ducks.

The area right behind Shawnee Square Shopping Center was full of C. Geese...several hundred. I put the scope to work, did find 5-Snow Geese with them,(4 Blue Phase-1-White). Looked hard for any Ross's..did not see any, but it was tough seeing all the birds. There were also at least 100-
Ring-billed Gulls flying around with them also..and with all the snow, I could have the all white Ross's(if present). The only ducks, were a few Mallards. Time was around 2:15pm, and toasty 18degrees!
