The Scioto River up around Dublin is open in stretches, particularly below O'SHaughnessy Dam and further south by Kiwanis Park. Both places had large flocks of geese and mallards this morning (350+ geese were jammed in the rapids at Kiwanis), along with other more interesting waterbirds, including Great Blue Herons (9 & 5 respectively), Black Ducks (a few at each site), and Common Goldeneye (8 & 5 respectively). Landbirds were lively, with good numbers of woodpeckers & flock birds, but nothing very unusual.
