Scott Jennex, Robert Epstein and I went to Holmes County to see the
Harris's Sparrow today. That was a success and on our way back to
the Detroit area we stopped at Huron, Ohio to check for gulls.
Several thousand were present. These were best viewed from out
limited knowledge of the geography of the area from the end of West
Drive. Highlights were 3 adult Lesser Black-backed Gulls and a
second winter Glaucous Gull all sitting on the edge of the ice
shelf. A few Tundra Swans could be seen close to shore in the
distance at that location as well.

The female Long-tailed Duck was still off the pier at Avon Lake.

At Castilia, we saw one of the previously reported Green-winged Teal
(male).

In Holmes County we found 3 Wood Ducks in with a couple hundred
Canada Geese on C160 east of T654 and west of T668. Also in Holmes
County we had a flock of 13 E. Meadowlarks along the side of a road
within 2 miles of the Harris's Sparrow locale.

Cheers,
