Went to these two areas yesterday and collected 60 species. A few notes
of interest first: All of the Tree Swallows were over open water (i.e.
over the lake at Caesar Creek and over the Roxanne gravel pit). There
were no blackbirds of any type at Spring Valley while I was there from
about 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. It was winding and maybe they were low but it
seems like I would have seen a few. Also, the boardwalk at Spring Valley
is closed due to vandalism and there was no seed in the feeders.
